AccentMarks.org is a free reference and copy/paste utility for accented Latin characters, diacritics, Unicode and HTML values, and verified typing methods. It brings the character you need and the information that identifies it into the same place.
Find, copy, and understand a character
Use the homepage search when you know a character, accent name, or code point. For a broader view, browse the reference collections:
- Letters groups verified precomposed variants by their base letter, with copy controls and technical tables.
- Diacritics explains the combining marks represented in those characters and shows their Unicode identities.
- Typing and Unicode guides describes documented input methods for specific platforms and applications, plus the distinction between character values and input commands.
The character collection has a defined scope: precomposed Latin letters with canonical decompositions into an ASCII base letter and combining diacritic marks. It does not claim to contain every Latin letter or every possible accented sequence.
One set of facts, several useful views
Structured character records supply the search, letter pages, and diacritic relationships. Reusing those records keeps a character's name, code point, and HTML references together instead of manually duplicating them across pages.
Unicode and technical data are checked against primary standards sources. Typing instructions need separate evidence for the platform, application, or keyboard they describe. A Unicode code point identifies a character; it does not establish a keyboard shortcut or a legacy Windows Alt code.
